How your baby's growing
Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.
So I failed at blogging last week. I had my 1 hr glucose test and FAILED! ARGGGhh (by 1 no less). Don't these people understand I HATE having my blood drawn!?!? Mostly because people treat me like some sort of animal and scoop around because they can't get blood from the area they thought was good. :P
Its getting more difficult to bend over and so on... the wee ones room is slowwwwwly getting cleaned out. I also got my friends bassinet, and its currently being covered by garbage bags, as not to get covered in dust and cat fur.

How your baby's growing:
The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.
So much for updates on the decent of testicles eh? I don't think Amelia needs to worry about those things for about 40 years!
I have had many comments are being bigger this week. As if the baby just decided to grow overnight or something. I suppose it was my own fault for wearing a tighter shirt, as I had been wearing very baggy clothes. (for those reasons!).
I still don't feel like I am all that large, although my backside is growing more than my belly, and so on.
I did my 3 hr glucose yesterday. 7 am Saturday am. Oh what fun. They first tried to tell me that I hadn't fasted long enough. I told them my paperwork told me nothing after 9pm, and really I had nothing after 8 (yes a late dinner again). So long story short: I was poked 5 times (since they missed and dug around once), had to go #2 in their filthy bathroom, and I thought I would crash the car on the way home. Good news is that Owen let me take a nap for about 40 minutes while he sat with me watching Elmo.
I happened to check my email later on, and I had an update to my medical site. They had the results in- and I passed with FLYING colors. I celebrated with 2 brownies :)
