his week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.
Ok people, single digit weeks here. Drs appointment was pretty good, she did mentioned that I gained more in the last 4 weeks than they like to see, so I REALLY have to make a good attempt at working out again. The desk job thing isn't as great as a daycare job during pregnancy that way. My weight gain overall isn't bad, but 2 months in a row is where I have gained the most. Darn Christmas cookies anyways!
She let me record Amelia's heartbeat on my phone, and she was actually able to tell me how she is positioned in my body. No shocker that she was head low (which explains the added pelvis pain). I say that if she stays that way the rest of my pregnancy and I can have a good delivery, than the pelvic pain and hip popping for a good portion of the pregnancy, is worth it!
Everything else is good, belly is growing, not nearly at the same rate as my thighs, hips, and butt! It should be time for another bump shot, and perhaps comparison photo, but my skin is going through another "nasty" look. Its cleared up a lot, but just some mornings through this pregnancy, I wake up with lots of little pimples on the sides of my face/head. My skin was radiant with Owen. Which makes me NOT want pics taken. SO we will see :)
As a side note, it would only be 7 weeks left if it were the Owen pregnancy. Shall I be lucky enough to "go 2 weeks early" again?
Last night I had a dream my mom was dragging me around a kids clothing store, buying EVERYTHING she could lay her hands on. I kept telling her that the baby would never get through all the things she was buying, and that it would be a waste of money to get them. I just wanted to get out of the store and get Owen (who I am guessing was with my dad). This dream couldn't be more realistic or true!
