32 weeks

How your baby's growing:

By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.

Oh boy oh boy, have we done some GIRL shopping!! Jason even persuaded me into exchanging the cheaper pink/brown contemporary looking bedding for what you see below (more expensive OF COURSE!). He said this is the last baby we will have and we should go for it, I didn't argue! We had talked about getting the feminine version of the animals (like Owens), but I really fell in love with this other set. My friend mentioned an Easter dress, so we picked Easter outfits for the kids, and will do the newborn/Easter for Amelia and the Easter/3rd yr pics for Owen in these. We also picked out a baby book, hooded towel, changing cover, and some other odds and ends. Have I mentioned we like credit card debt?!!?

I have a list of things to pack, when I decide I should starting packing bags, and they are sorted by person, dad, mom, Owen, and

Amelia. Having baby #1 is for sure easier in so many ways. I am now starting to worry about

labor, being in the hospital with the baby, and wondering about my big boy, and who will get him, and how he

will handle all that. How will he feel with mommy in the hospital, and not in his "normal" routine. We even ordered the

shirt for Owen from his new baby sister. So yes this girl afraid of having a girl, is getting excited, but that doesn't mean that I lost all of my anxieties either folks. I am really starting to wonder what she will look like, and how

long it will take us to adjust to a family of 4!

  1. Is it strange that seeing the pic of the two Easter outfits next to each other made me tear up? Hahaha! I just can't believe 1. how BIG owie's outfit is and 2. how incredibly cute they're going to look. Your family is going to be complete in just a few short weeks! Can't wait to meet that little sweetheart.
